Babelgum Strikes Up Another Cool Deal
Digital broadcast network Babelgum and Native Voice Films, a leading British production company whose credits include the award-winning Channel 4 documentary “We Are the Indians,” have announced a landmark commissioning deal which will see the Web platform work alongside traditional media partners in a new-media financing model for online, mobile, broadcast and feature platform release of “The Bengali Detective.” Babelgum unveiled Episode 1 (“Rajesh: The Boss”) of a specially commissioned prequel for the film-in-progress yesterday, to be followed by weekly segments, each highlighting the colorful cast of real-world characters investigating cases in Calcutta.
