Cruise’s New “Impossible” Force Gets New Member
Paula Patton has signed on as a new operative opposite Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner in the fourth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise. Apparently, Patton was chosen over two other actresses who were testing for the part, Lauren German and Kristen Kreuk. The new “M:I” film, which is budgeted at $150 million, will be directed by Brad Bird and, according to sources, will not be titled “Mission: Impossible 4.” Insiders at Paramount, which is co-financing the film with Skydance Productions, have been referring to the project as “Aries.” Production is set for this fall.
