That’s Sarah Jessica Parker In For Demi Moore In That “Lovelace” Flick

According to “Lovelace” directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, Sarah Jessica Parker — and not Mary-Louise Parker — will replace Demi Moore in their new film about porn star Linda Lovelace. She’ll play journalist and Ms. magazine co-founder Gloria Steinem. She joins a “Lovelace” cast that already includes Amanda Seyfried as the titular porn star, Peter Sarsgaard as her abusive ex-husband, James Franco (in a cameo as Hugh Hefner) and Adam Brody as Lovelace’s “Deep Throat” co-star Harry Reems.

Demi’s Out, Chloë’s In … “Lovelace” That Is

Chloë Sevigny has joined the cast of “Lovelace,” the biopic of one of the most famous adult film actresses of all time, Linda Lovelace. The casting comes a day after Demi Moore dropped out of the film due to her “seeking professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” according to her reps.  “Lovelace” sees Amanda Seyfried as the woman who starred in “Deep Throat.” The ensemble cast includes Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Debi Mazar, Wes Bentley, Romeo Brown, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts. James Franco is making a cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. Sevigny will play a feminist journalist on freelance assignment for a men’s magazine to find out who the real Linda Lovelace is. The production began shooting in Los Angeles on December 20, 2011 with Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman behind the camera.

The Amanda Seyfried “Lovelace” Project Gets More Cast

Sharon Stone and Juno Temple have just joined “Lovelace,” the new biopic about porn star Linda Lovelace. They’ll play the mother and best friend, respectively, of Amanda Seyfried’s main character. Wes Bentley has also just been cast as Lovelace’s second husband, Larry Marchiano. Lovelace, whose real name was Linda Boreman, became famous as the star of the ’70s porn film “Deep Throat”; she claimed that her first husband, Chuck Traynor (to be played by Peter Sarsgaard), forced her into the adult film industry. Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman will direct.

Correction: Sharon Stone’s Actually In That OTHER Linda Lovelace Project

Quoting from a Hollywood Reporter story yesterday, we told you that Sharon Stone has joined the cast of a bio pic of former pornstar Linda Lovelace. Problem is, there are two of them, and we had her joining the wrong one. In reality, Stone be in “Lovelace,” playing the mother of the late actress (played by Amanda Seyfried) in the film. The film follows the life of the adult film legend who starred the in 1972 film “Deep Throat.” Sorry for the confusion.

Now There’s A Good Chance We’ll See Amanda Seyfried As Linda Lovelace

First it was Kate Hudson. Then potentially Olivia Wilde. Now it appears Amanda Seyfried may star in “Lovelace,” a new biopic about the life of infamous porn star Linda Lovelace. Reports have Seyfried in talks to lead the Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman-directed film, with Peter Sarsgaard negotiating to play her abusive husband Chuck Traynor. Epstein and Friedman were reportedly first discussing the roles with Hudson and James Franco earlier this year. The pair called their film a “nontraditional biopic” which would focus on how Lovelace’s tragic life birthed the current climate of celebrity.

Harlan Ellison Furious … Nobody In The Entire World Surprised

More news on the Harlan Ellison legal front. The author is suing to not only stop the Oct. 28 release of  “In Time,” directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake,  but to have all copies destroyed. At issue are the similarities cited between the movie and Ellison’s celebrated 1965 short story “Repent Harlequin! Said the Ticktockman.”

Harlan Ellison Thinks Fox Stole His Idea

Science fiction legend Harlan Ellison is attempting to kill a high-profile movie that is scheduled to come out in theaters next month. The Hugo award-winning writer has filed a lawsuit against New Regency and director Andrew Niccol over the 20th Century Fox-distributed film, “In Time,” starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy. He is demanding an injunction to prevent the film’s October 28 release and the disposal of all copies of the film. Ellison filed his lawsuit on Wednesday in California federal court with allegations of copyright infringement on the part of the producers of “In Time,” including Niccol, who is renowned for his sci-fi films including “The Truman Show,” “Gattaca,” and “S1mOne.”

De Niro! Keaton! Together Again, For The First Time!

Now here’s a pairing that seems long overdue: superstars Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton. Both co-starred in “The Godfather, Part II” and shared the screen in “Marvin’s Room,” but they have never before played a couple. Now, in “Gently Down the Stream,” the Oscar-winning duo will play a long-divorced couple who pretend to still be married for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding with, we assume, the usual comic complications. Amanda Seyfried and Katherine Heigl will co-star in the indie comedy, to be written and directed by Justin Zackham (“The Bucket List”).

Actor Webber’s Toddler Getting Some Indie Cred

A filmmaker’s true life relationship with his son is center stage in a new indie drama in which Michael Cera, Amanda Seyfried, Shannon Sossamon and Jason Ritter either co-star or cameo as heightened versions of themselves. Mark Webber, an indie actor whose biggest credit is playing Stephen Stills in the cult movie “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” wrote the script. He also stars in and is directing the untitled film, which is in production in Los Angeles. Webber is producing through his company Poor Rich Kids along with his partners. The movie (with a budget well below $1 million) centers on a struggling single father, an actor played by Webber, raising his two-year-old son after the death of the child’s mother. Because the story so closely mirrors Webber’s own life story, he is using his own two-and-a-half year old son to play the young boy in the film. He said he is taking great pains to shield his son from the rigors of the shoot and conducted tests to see if he could make it as non-invasive as possible. To that end, he is shooting with no crew — just himself, a director of photography and a sound guy — and is using Canon 5D Cameras.

Oh, Good. “The Great Gatsby” Might Be Shot in 3D

When Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic first started cooking, it sounded pretty good. Names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Amanda Seyfried and Tobey Maguire were in the running for lead roles. By November, the strong starring cast was set. DiCaprio would be Jay Gatsby, Maguire would be Nick Carraway and Carey Mulligan would be Daisy Buchanan. Everything was on the up and up. But chew on this. During a Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Baz Luhrmann revealed that he has workshopped “Gatsby” in 3-D. Right now it’s only a possibility — he hasn’t decided on whether he would shoot in the format — though if James Cameron gets a whiff of this, he’ll probably hardcore court Luhrmann until he agrees.

Seyfried to Bring Back the “Love” for Series Finale

Amanda Seyfried will be making her small screen return for the final episode of “Big Love,” ending the show’s five-season run. For four seasons, Seyfried played Sarah, the eldest daughter of polygamist Bill (Bill Paxton) and Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn). At the end of season four, her character ran off with her husband Scott Quittman. “Breaking Bad”‘s Aaron Paul will also return for the finale to reprise his role as Quittman. Co-creator Will Scheffer told TV Guide that both Seyfried and Sheffer wanted to be a part of the last episode, despite the fact that they were both shooting movies. The episode was shot in mid-December and will air in March. Season five is set to premiere January 16.

Galecki’s the Latest to Join New Niccol Flick

Johnny Galecki has booked his first major feature role since becoming a star on CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory.” Galecki is joining the cast of New Regency’s “I’m.Mortal,” the speculative sci-fi project from writer-director Andrew Niccol. Strike Entertainment is producing. The movie is set in the not-too-distant future where the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Olivia Wilde are among the cast. In a role far removed from the one he plays in his hit CBS show, Galecki will portray Timberlake’s best friend, a screw-up of a father with a drinking problem who wastes all of his family’s excess time.

Niccol Nabs Seyfried to Lead His Next Flick

Amanda Seyfried is seeking immortality, starring in New Regency’s sci-fi action thriller, “I’m.mortal,” from writer-director Andrew Niccol. Twentieth Century Fox will distribute the film, which also has romance elements. “I’m.mortal” centers on a society in which aging stops at 25 — meaning that every role will be played by actors in their mid-20s. Eric Newman and Marc Abraham are producing via their Strike Entertainment. Time is the currency in the world of “I’m.mortal,” where citizens must buy and bank time when their aging gene turns off at age 25. The rich can live forever, but those who run out of time are engineered to die automatically. When a rebel from the ghetto is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful, rich hostage (Seyfried).
